The Stinking Rose

We live in Sacramento and get to San Francisco about 4 times a year. We've seen this restaurant time and again, but have always been put off by the name. However on this Sunday we decided to give it a go. It was a great experience! The wait staff was very friendly and willing to chat with us. We ordered cocktails to start, and were impressed with the abundant pour. We ordered the baked mussles as an appetizer, split a salad, and shared the black linguine with clams. Although they speak of lots and lots of garlic, the food was very sensibly seasoned. Don't be frightened by the idea of lots of garlic because they don't overdo it. However if you LIKE garlic you will love this place! Also if you're looking for good Italian food you will love this place.

It was a great place for meeting old friends and enjoying a nice atmospere, good food and drinks. I hope to try it again soon! It is a place to which I plan to return. The menu had so many things to try! And of course they tout the world's longest strand of garlic - hence the name!
