Alamo Square Cafe

A nice little coffee shop on Fillmore and Hayes. Across the street is Walden House, a rehab. Check it out. The building was used as City Hall after the old one was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. A nice tree with a bench under is outside and a liquor store is nearby. Stop here for a cup of coffee before you head to Alamo Square and admire the Painted Ladies and absentmindedly hum the theme song for TV show "Full House."
