An experience that started off well and ended terribly.
I purchased a washer and dryer and received a reasonably good deal with next day delivery. I left Howard's happy with the deal and the service I received.
Unfortunately, the next day, the delivery crew said the washer and dryer wouldn't fit for two reasons: first, that a plumber needed to install a new washer tray; second, that even if the proper washer tray was installed, the washer and dryer would not fit in the area.
This pissed me off because I carefully prepared for the purchase, taking exact measurements and showing measurements, pictures, and videos to the salesperson. We even discussed the existing tray, which was too small, and the new tray I would need to buy. Never was mention made of a plumber being needed, despite my salesperson having 30 years of experience. He just said go to Home Depot, buy a tray, and the next morning the delivery team would use the new tray.
And even worse, Howard's itself has said that in my 35"x35" laundry room, there is no way a 32" deep washer would fit, even though the salesperson insisted it would fit. The delivery team refused to install it. I talked to other salespeople at Howard's and at other companies and they all said the 32" deep washer would not fit. Yet still, when I was processing my refund, the salesperson insisted the 32" deep washer would fit.
I was so happy with how this deal started and then so pissed off in how it ended: with a ton of my time wasted.
