I absolutely recommend visiting Escondido Hyundai! There was an initial error with the agreed price for the vehicle I wanted to purchase but the staff at Escondido Hyundai went above and beyond to honor the original agreed price. I am grateful for their respect and the integrity they have shown me. I love my new 2018 Ioniq plug-in hybrid!
Staff are very friendly, Yvonne, Jose, and Rudy (I think that's his name) including the gentleman that greeted me when I arrived who took my key and checked the mileage of my car (I'm sorry, I didn't get his name). I love the fact that they have popcorn and I love popcorn :) this is the only reason why I come to this location for free popcorn...lol...just kidding. I asked Jose if he can turn on the TV at the waiting room, Jose was very apologetic because is not working.
I cannot recommend you take your business elsewhere enough. We brought our vehicle in to have a recall item taken care of. With this being our only vehicle this dealer agreed to cover the cost of a rental car for us. Fantastic. We informed them that we were in town visiting family and would have to take the rental back to our home in Las Vegas. At no point during this initial conversation were any limitations to the duration of the rental coverage expressed to either myself or my wife. The initial time frame for the repair was expressed as “2 weeks.” No qualifying statement as in “it could” or “possibly take” or “might be as long as” was included. At this point we informed the rep that we would have to take the vehicle out of state in order to return home, and would bring it back as quickly as we could once the repairs were complete. We made sure to say that it may take us an extra day or two to return the rental. We were told this was acceptable, given a slip for the rental car and went to pick it up. At no point was it clarified that the rental car was only covered during the repair. 4 days later, my wife was called and informed that our car was finished. We said it would take us an extra couple days to get back to return the car, at this time she was informed that we would be charged for the extra, contrary to what we had initially been told. The vehicle was returned and we picked up our car and were charged. Upon calling to see about reducing or eliminating this charge it was claimed that I initially said things that never happened. Specifically that I was staying in San Diego for the entire 2 weeks (I didn’t and clarified that I would have to take the vehicle out of state) and that I was initially told “it could be up to 2 weeks” (I was told 2 weeks. No qualifier was given.) Both of these are blatantly false and did not happen. The service representative we worked with flat out lied to the service manager who, effectively, said they would not honor their original agreement with us to cover the cost of the rental. They will lie to cover their own butts then accuse you of saying things you never said while changing the terms of the original agreement after you are already in the middle of the arrangement. In the end, you get to pay them for all of this too. Look elsewhere for your vehicle needs.
