Food 4 Less

Only two stars because their produce section is horrible. ...not sure what they are thinking that they put veggies for sale that are limp, discolored, and way past their prime. I went there for salad makings, and had to ASK the produce guy for a decent cucumber. He was very pleasant, went in the back, and brought a bin of wrinkled cucumbers that were ready for the garbage. Maybe one or two were worth buying. No explanation from him as to why the veggies were so bad AND displayed as if someone would actually pay for them! During the winter storms, they had signs up in Produce saying the weather had damaged the veggies, but the quality is sub-par throughout the year. SHAME!

The name Food 4 Less is true you can actually save a lot of money. I could probably tell you in order all the grocery stores in Merced from highest to lowest in cost. There are some stores that have food much cheaper but this store is the biggest of the cheapest. Certainly cheaper then stores like Save Mart but it's like a warehouse and I know many people that are just seem too good for it so they would rather go to Save Mart and spend almost double the money just for that clean Sharp look. Well I'm not too stuck-up to go to Food 4 Less. Food 4 Less will save you a lot of money. But beware only the food is less, the non-food items they make up 4 the low cost of food by having higher prices for the non-food items
