Mi Casita is tucked away on Clarissa Ave about 200 feet from the beach. The front staff is not the most friendly, but the waitresses are alright. Pricing is moderate.. expect to spend about $15 or so per person excluding drinks beyond water. Speaking of which, water should not be $1.50 when it is routinely. 50¢ elsewhere on the island. So, the poor rating is for the food. The obligatory tortilla chips were clearly from a large bag...the salsa from a jar. Our order arrived rather quickly which points to pre prepared food. The meat in both the tacos and the Chile Colorado appeared less than fresh.. the taste came off as dry meat from sitting around too long. The sauce in the Chile Colorado had a skin when it arrived. Additionally, it had way too much salt. The rice was bland and pieces clumped together, again from sitting in a pan or container. The beans were cold.
Food was ok, we visited during a Wednesday morning, plates were big with abundant food. Service was good and friendly. Food came out quickly and it looked good, wished the tortillas were made fresh. Atmosphere was quiet and welcoming with plenty of patrons inside the restaurant. Restaurant is decorated with traditional Mexican colors and artifacts.
