Spoke with a very dishonest Asian (i think vietnamese) lady when applying for a passport for my newborn! She said that we could not do it yet because my baby did not have a ssn since she is just 2 weeks old. She told us to go to the social security office first. I argued with her that we could just fill out '0's in the ssn portion, but she said they don't do that anymore. We think she was just excited to take her lunch soon cause we went there at 11:30! Luckily, i did some research beforehand, and i knew we could definitely get a passport for her already. I also called several other passport acceptance offices, and they said there shouldn't be a problem with getting a passport for our baby. We applied for a passport at the lake forest city hall in comercentre drive. It was so much easier, and the staff there was so friendly.
