Sewing Arts Center

I love this place, I learned most of my sewing skills from Russell. I have taken many classes, purchased my first sewing machine and serger from Yolanda, and get my sewing machine serviced here. Sewing Arts Center is a definite jewel in Santa Monica.

I know there's been some mixed reviews on this list, but I took the pattern drafting course with Marva and loved it. I consider myself intermediate in terms of sewing skills, but Marva was super patient and walked the class through each pattern drafting block step by step. The class and learning is rigorous, but I definitely thought it was worth it and can't wait to see if they offer subsequent courses on pattern drafting. I used to go to Pasadena for sewing/fashion courses, but I'm super happy to have discovered this resource in West LA.
