Our first floor unit in a condo building was flooded by a bursted pipe in the attic of the second floor unit. The HOA is responsible for the damage except the painting job inside our unit. So the ServPro was hired. Guess what ! They refused to replace the water drenched ceiling which had a huge stain on it. A month later I insisted on opening the ceiling and replacing the dry wall. Sure enough the interior side of ceiling got mold, some even got into the pink insulation. It was still wet inside after a month. Do you call this a good restoration? I don't know how much they charged our HOA. But the job was poorly done and aggravating was tremendous. The so called restoration was basically using your electricity to run fans, heaters, and dehumidifiers. For the longest time, they refused to cut off wet dry walls. They just hoped the walls could dry fast and the case could be closed. After more than a month of battling, they patched up the ceiling, did one sample mold check . The spore count was 20 times of the outdoor count. They think is OK and closed the case. Who has time to keep on fighting?
