Scotty’s is the best in big bear! Honestly- not only were they affordable but the staff is down to earth and there to help. They hooked us up with great rental boards for the day. They’re location is perfect- making it quick and convient to pick up/drop off the boards on my way in and out of town. I also got a killer deal on a my own new board! They set me up with all I needed for a crazy discount! Even threw in handmade wall hangers so I could keep my board on display! I absolutely love it and am so excited that it came from such a cool board shop. I will for sure be heading back to Scotty’s next time I’m in big bear. Highly recommended

I came to this ride shop to rent a snowboard and boots, and had my credit card information stolen by them. At this rental shop they have a unusual method of keeping a down payment for the gear you rent in the event you don’t return it. Here at Scotty’s ride shop they scan you credit card and ID. I was skeptical when they explained the process, and when I asked about putting a payment down I was told that was not a option. So I went with it that in good faith they would not keep my information, however they did and three days later I had 1000$ charged to my card even though I had returned all gear (in the same condition I received it). But this was not the only issue I had with this business, they set me up with a snowboard with the foot clamps set in board. I didn’t know how a snowboard was to be set up so I went with it. After a couple runs down the slope one of the safety personnel noticed that the board was improperly configured and fixed it for me, and explained the danger of having the board set in a pigeon toed configuration. I hope this proves clarity to what this really is, I would advise no one to conduct business here unless you want credit card fraud.

Scotty is totally friendly and makes you feel like a part of the family. They have the best prices on the mountain for sure, and he's willing to male recommendations if he somehow doesn't have exactly what you need. Right now he's having a clearance sale, we scored some great stuff for way way way below retail!
