One of the most consistently bad eating experiences I've had. I'll give them two stars because I know larger groups can be more difficult to get right, but every part of this missed the mark. Came in with 13. We had a reservation that we had missed a bit because of scheduling issues with a funeral, but they seated us anyway to their credit. That's where the positive parts ended. The server insisted he had a great memory and didn't write any notes. We were all rather impressed by this, at the outset, because he was so confident. Literally every single one of us had an issue. Half of our drinks were forgotten, eggs cooked wrong, bowls of soup forgotten, plates left behind, fish undercooked, wrong sides, watery salad with hardly any dressing. We spent twenty minutes trying to get the forgotten pieces served to us. Some of us waited only to be informed they were out of the ingredients a half hour after it was ordered. All through this the service gave an air of being annoyed that we wanted our food. Rolling eyes, sighs, wandering away from the table after filling 3 glasses of water and not filling the other half dozen empty glasses. There wasn't one of the thirteen that was entirely happy, and most of us that had to correct the service to get what we wanted never received an apology or anything more than the barest minimum. We're a pretty easy going group. No one was asking for anything ridiculous; we just wanted the food as ordered. If you didn't want to serve a large group then don't seat us.
As good as it was back in the 1960's, '70's & '80's for a food & rest stop on a long road trip! The food quality is great, menu selections are many & varied, service is nice, and the value is great for everything you get with the convenience & ambiance of Anderson's, since 1924 (there MUST be a reason....). The bakery and Gift shop are great too. They even have a little Bar that has some Happy Hour food items & good, cold beers on draft. Try it...You'll like it! Then, have your passenger drive for a few hours...
