I took my Z4 here a few times for maintenance. The oil change ($80-90) costs the same as parts alone, and is a bit cheaper than taking it to an independent shop, plus they always do a full vehicle inspection, which is nice. Last time I took my car in I asked for them to look at a small oil leak I’ve been watching for a while. The service advisor, Bob put the inspection in for free but then said that they have to do some parts research and will email me the quote. It came back with an estimate of $3198 for two gaskets, a new belt tensioner and control arm bushings. I think Bob didn’t want to tell me the price in person, as other dealers I called gave me quick quotes. I’m from South Florida and most of the dealerships there offer 20% off for out of warranty BMWs or some other loyalty discount for repeat customers and when repairs are bundled, so I was surprised that they didn’t offer any discount given that I’ve been there for each service since moving to CA (grad school at UC Davis). That said, none of the other dealers in the area offered discounts, I think because they’re more spread out here than in Miami, so less competition. I ended up getting the repairs done at Angelo’s Performance Plus, who gave me a student discount. Though for regular maintenance Niello’s been great and reasonably priced. Nice waiting area with drinks and snacks.
