Motel 6 Thousand Oaks, CA

A friend and I were heading to a funeral mass in Oceanside. We has planned to drive from Santa Barbara to Oceanside Friday morning. But because of the rain in Santa Barbara and potential for flooding and closing the 101 we decided at about 8:30 Thursday evening to drive south of Montecito. We were both tired and didn't want to drive too far. So I booked two rooms for us in Thousand Oaks. The front desk staff was very nice, rooms clean and quiet. Only soap no shampoo or hair drier in the bathroom, and the shower head was really low. I'm 5'6 and had to do squats to get under the water. It was a cold rainy night and the heater in my room didn't work so I was a bit cold. Would have loved an extra blanket. We checked in about 11 pm and were gone by 7:30 the next morning so we really just needed beds and showers. For that, the price was right. Had we planned to stay another night I would have been frustrated by the lack of amenities in the room.
