Be very cautious with this Dental Practice. Never in my history of having full dental insurance have I ever had to walk away from a routine visit with over $200 of charges. So basically my husband, daughter, and I were referred to Dr. Mesa. He was fantastic. The receptionist not at all helpful. Most places have you submit your insurance info prior to your visit. Not this place and now I know why. I have a very comprehensive dental insurance. I guess what the insurance was willing to pay out was not enough for what they charge at MKD Dentistry. Defeats the purpose of having insurance! Anyway my husband (who worked in the insurance industry) said that when a dental practice charges above what an insurance company pays out, the dentist often writes it off as a business loss (for tax purposes apparently). Not in this case, they nickel and dime their patients. My amazing dentist who was 2 floors down from this place retired and he never, ever charged us one cent above what the insurance paid out FOR THE SAME SERVICES!! I regret using this dentist office when there are hundreds of great dentists in Los Angeles. Oh and not to mention that the parking here sucks! Had to pay $15 for the Pershing Square lot. Our old dentist paid half of the parking with a validation sticker! Yes, nickel and dime.
