Every day at noon they feed the homeless in the area a hot meal. There is a short 15 minute service of singing and prayers beforehand. The number of warm, caring volunteers who cook and serve the meals almost outnumbers the homeless individuals. You can enter around 11:30 and get a good hot cup of coffee and chat with the others while waiting for the main meal. Wonderful.
I believe it is an Episcopal church because one time they did use the "Book of Common Prayer" during the service, and they have "pastors" instead of priests.
They also have a "Ready Room" from which they will gladly distribute socks, toothpaste, shampoo, and even sleeping bags and backpacks. Very caring folk.
