Hotel Clariana

The hotel was quite nice in a reasonably good location about a 20 minute walk from the convention center and a few blocks away from the main street of bars and places to eat. It isn't in the main cluster of hotels near the convention center. The street didn't feel as safe as those closer to the middle of the town but didn't feel dangerous either, just could be a little noisy during the night and not somewhere where I'd feel very happy walking alone in the middle of the night. The hotel was clean, with a very comfy bed and friendly staff, but the included breakfast was just coffee/tea and bread, there was also a Starbucks opposite the hotel if you wanted something else. Overall the hotel was ok. Seemed expensive for what we got, but it seems all hotels in San Jose are much more expensive than they should be, so if you can get a good deal the Clariana is worth considering.
