Fox Rent A Car

Don't let the low prices fool you! It's not worth it. I've rented from them 4 times (or tried to) and only got a car 2 times with them leaving me stranded the other 2. I swore after the first time when they didn't have any cars available that I wouldn't use them again but the low prices sucked me back in recently. This recent one was the worst. I had a family emergency and had to fly out the same day. I made the reservation and received an email saying "booked and confirmed". When I got to the rental center late at night the guy got all the way to having me swipe my card for the car then stopped and said "wait, you just booked this today...Fox doesn't take reservations the same day." I pointed out that he was not correct because I had a reservation. He kept saying the same thing "We don't take reservations the same day" with no further explanation after each time that I pointed out that I DID have a reservation and showed him my confirmation. It was infuriating! Finally he said he would find me the same deal at another company. He told me he found me a deal for only a couple dollars more at Alamo. My reservation with Fox was for $14/day. When I got to Alamo, he had me booked at $44/day! So I went for the good deal and ended up paying an extra $150. I don't know if it's a problem with policy or training, but it's not worth the risk to rent from Fox. I've rented a lot of cars and this is the only company I've had issues with. Just pay the couple extra dollars and use someone else.
