ELF Homes, Inc., AKA Green Stay California rents homes from homeowners, then, furnish the homes and sublease the furnished houses to the public as vacation homes and as corporate housing. In March 2014, they signed a two-year lease with us to rent our property in Belmont. On February 1, 2015, ELF Homes suddenly and unilaterally stopped paying rent and breached our lease agreement. They did not give us a 90-day notice to vacate as required by our lease. ELF Homes ignored our repeated e-mails, letters, and phone calls to pay rent. On February 11, 2015, we served them a "Three Day Notice to Pay Rent or Quit." ELF Homes moved out of the house on Feb 13, but they also took our carpets from our dining room and living room, kitchen cabinet storage bins, and the stove hood cleaning container. We immediately requested that they return all stolen properties which they ignored. So, we filed a police report for the stolen goods and re-ordered the carpets and the kitchen cabinet storage bins. ELF Homes eventually returned the carpets which were filthy and the kitchen storage bins about three weeks later, but by then, we already spent money for the replacement. As of today, ELF Homes still owes us about $1200 for lost rent, late fees, damages to property, cleaning fees, utility expenses, and replacement costs for carpets and kitchen cabinet storage bins. We have filed a complaint with the BBB in Santa Clara County in hope that other homeowners will not be defaulted by ELF Homes, Inc. like they did to us.
