CHP rocks! Around 9pm last night, I gotta tire blowout on 101 South, a few miles past Carpinteria...scary (especially in the dark night). Lots of road construction, moving arrow trucks, blocking lanes, diverting traffic, cars attempting to navigate the roadway. Luckily, I was able to drive a few miles until I spotted a Call Box by the beach (Ventura County). I spoke to a female operator who attempted to alleviate my fear, said she would alert the CHP and someone would come. On the shoulder of the road, I waited in my car, nervously biting my nails as my two little dogs sat staring at me from the backseat. Then, like the cavalry coming to save the save the day, the lights of the CHP car pulled up behind my car. The CHP Officer said it would be quicker to change my tire than have me wait for a tow truck and probably safer (I thought) as the cars zipped by. He was certainly a caring human, and I thank him for his kindness!!!!! This is not first time the CHP has helped. I appreciate them!
