This is very nearly literally a hidden jewel -- an intimate, cozy coffee house directly next door to the 7-Eleven at this intersection. The proprietor is a sweet and attentive woman; I've also met her daughter (equally nice!) and son . . . This is truly a family-run cafe, and as such, it has a casual, personal ambiance (utterly divorced from the cookie-cutter likes of Starbucks, Peets, etc.). Besides coffee there is a small menu of fresh food.
An unexpected surprise is the completely hidden "patio" on the back side of the building . . . while it's a "no-frills" space it does feature two large umbrellas and a pair tables -- and is a good place to just "get away from it all" so long as you're not looking for fancy decor. I recently spent nearly three hours on the patio, journaling, reading, relaxing and downing luscious latte coffees.
There are only two downsides to this sweet cafe:
1. No public restroom
2. Given the high price of rents in this valley, Cafe Banc might not endure for terribly long unless you, and your friends, spread the word . . . and too lose such a small, quite, unique setting such as this would be a shame.
