I've been working out with the Barot Bros. for about 7 weeks and I'm 1000% percent (yes, one thousand percent) satisfied with the training they provide and the results I've obtained.
I started working out with Jay and Jolin after going on a trip to Catalina Island. I came home and felt so damn fat and out of shape I didn't know what to do with myself. I hopped on the scale to see how bad the damage was and I was horrified at what I saw.
After finding them on Yelp and checking out their reviews, I gave them a call and did my initial consult the next day. Although the baseline workout wasn't very difficult (well, it shouldn't have been), I basically couldn't do anything - no strength, no endurance, no coordination. I was like that dead seal we saw on the boat ride home - completely bloated and useless.
Fast forward less than two months and I am down about 12 pounds. At one point I was down about 15 pounds but a nasty cold got the best of me. I've lost over 5 percent body fat (the best indicator of whether or not losing weight was actually beneficial for your body), and I feel SO. MUCH. BETTER. My knee stopped hurting, my hips don't ache, my back is stronger and I can go on two hour hikes without hoping a massive fire breaks out in Griffith Park and swallows me whole.
Aside from the workouts and fitness advice, Jay and Jolin are cool dudes, too. Among others, some of the things we have talked about during and post workout include: Bollywood movies, Southern Indian Cuisine, 9/11 conspiracies, and Real Estate.
Payment options are flexible (I pay weekly). Sessions are cheaper if you bring a friend. Scheduling is super easy because Jay and Jolin are both readily available and accommodating. The facility they use is clean and bright, everything works and there's plenty of space for more than one person to work out. (I've only had one other person work out at the same time as me, and we're not in each-other's way at all.) Oh, and they have a sweet Beats stereo that drowns out the awkward sounds you make when you do core-strengthening exercises.
I basically could go on and on about how positive my experience has been at Barot Bros. Fitness but I'm going to cut myself off here - not because I've run out of things to say but because if I say any more nice things it's going to be awkward when I see them on Friday.
GIVE THEM A SHOT, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
